British Watch Brands – My Current Favourites
I have intensified my search for a new watch. Currently, I am obsessed with British watches. This is not a topic I have explored before. However, there seems to be a multitude of high quality British watch brands right now. They are at completely different ends of the design spectrum. I will try and talk through the main ones catching my eye at the moment. They are all very different, and all very appealing.

I have written about this company in another blog purely about dive watches. It a company that was founded by a commercial deep sea diver, so they know a thing or two about what makes a high quality dive watch. As you would expect their designs are all around diving, or being at sea.
They offer a variety of sizes, colours, and materials. Your choice depends on what you will use the watch for. All options are very reasonably priced. They contain Swiss movements. All give you at least 200m water resistance. The resistance ramps up to 500m for the diver-focused pieces.

I have only just come across this brand, and as their website suggests, they make ‘unique and unusual’ watches. The majority are fun, colourful and have a message behind them. They are playful and are pretty much a piece if art or a statement first, and a watch second. The majority are bright, standout colours, but they do also have some more subtle pieces. All of them will be an absolute conversation starter and I will definately be adding one to my collection. The name also helps..

These are a more classic watch business in terms of designs. They offer some beautiful, classy watches with traditional uncomplicated designs. This however doesn’t mean they are boring. They offer 3 significant models, each of which come with an array of face colours. You can have a classy, understated black face. Alternatively, choose a vibrant, standout orange that will definitely turn heads.

Marloe are a much more mainstream brand offering a wide selection of designs and styles. The offer really industrial looking dive watches, through to smart and classy dress watches. Some designs have a motorsport feel that clearly caught my attention. They even partner with Ardnamurcan Scoth Whisky. This makes them sound like the perfect brand for me. All of the designs are, clear, smart and concise, nothing complicated detracting from the initial design.
They are all so very different. Each has a unique approach to their design, manufacture, and intended use. I think it may be a case of biding my time and trying one from each!
